Maudi Ivette Mills
LMFT
I knew early on I wanted to help; I wanted to be a helper. I felt an alignment and affinity to the professions of missionary, teacher, and counselor. As a pre-teen growing up in the South Bronx, these vocations were meaningful, empowering, and inspiring to me. My firsthand experiences with the hardships, challenges, and barriers my community faced allowed me to bear witness to their struggles. I knew I wanted to support, connect, and be an instrument promoting hope and change.
As part of the Healing Collective staff in Pasadena, California, my approach to care is grounded in a humanistic and holistic approach with a strength-based, client-centered, needs-driven focus. There is an emphasis on finding the balance and connectedness of physical, spiritual, and mental well-being.
I believe everyone has a unique story to tell. This is why the approach taken must be individualized. Every issue/conflict/challenge has a story, and the job of a helper/healer is to uncover that story and discover the possibilities. The success of that work will be determined by you and for you.
My background is in community mental health, and I am dedicated to serving a diverse, underserved, and disenfranchised community of children, adolescents, young adults, and their families.
I have provided direct care as well as served in administrative roles. I am committed to continuing this work by providing a space created to promote exploration for healing, growth, learning, and inner peace.
